What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a talking therapy that offers the opportunity for you to talk about your experiences and worries in a confidential, impartial and non-judgemental setting.
It allows an exploration of the life experiences that have brought you to where you are now.
Psychotherapy can facilitate the discovery of underlying reasons that have contributed to current or ongoing difficulties in your life which you are finding increasingly less easy to contain or manage, and which are interfering with your ability to have positive interactions and relationships with others.
You may have had to bury feelings associated with difficult experiences, sometimes since childhood, in order to get on with and manage life. Although these feelings are not always present, or even consciously apparent, they interfere with your ability to find contentment or happiness.
Psychotherapy can help you to investigate the origins of your anxiety and discomfort in order to understand and overcome what is preventing you from moving forward in a positive way.
If you are finding current events in your life particularly challenging and feel that support during a difficult phase in your life would be helpful or have been struggling for some time and want to understand why, Psychotherapy may be a suitable option for you.
I offer a safe and secure space for you to talk and for us to think together about what is going on for you.
Online Psychotherapy
Online Psychotherapy takes place in exactly the same way as face to face therapy except at a distance. Although we will not be in a room together, we will be able to see each other via camera and speak to each other via an online platform, usually Zoom.
Meeting online allows sessions to continue anywhere, which is of particular importance to those who travel or cannot be in the same place at the same time in person each week for sessions.
